Ancient Celtic Futhark Alphabet

I created the ELDER FUTHARK ALPHABET series of acrylic paintings in late 2023, when I was 94 years old, using the ancient art of stenciling The series was part of several series of paintings inspired by reflection about inter-group misunderstanding. It had occurred to me that such misunderstanding could be represented in paintings that present unintelligible texts. In the case of the ELDER FUTHARK ALPHABET series, I was also fascinated by the shapes of this ancient alphabet, which included no curved lines but rather only straight horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. The script presented here may be regarded as the "national" script of the ancient North Germanic tribes.
